Here is the beloved cowboy, Tex Ritter, just before the sandman comes ‘ round … singing songs kiddies love, in the breezy western style that made him the idol of millions of moppets the world over.

Oldsters will remember “The Animal Fair,” “The Green Grass Grew All Around,” “The Big Rock Candy Mountain” and others; and they will find that Old MacDonald, who had a farm, also had a relative in “Cactus Jackson” who “Had A Ranch” with an equal variety of delightful animals and sounds.

I don’t really know anything about “collecting” – I had this set by Tex Ritter as a child and would be interested in owning again. What do I need to do next?

Growing up, I used to go to the “record room” at the public library and listen to this album. The book had pictures and you could sing along. My personal favorite is Big Rock Candy mountain. I want to teach my grandsons these wonderful songs. What a treasure.

    Thank you.

WOW. This is an album (78) I’ll never forget. We didn’t have electricity on the ranch (unless the generator would run) so this one was played on the old crank up 78. What a treasure!
