At first a discovery, then an obsession, the Vintage Vinyl Revival was soon born on the airwaves of College Radio in the Fall of 2005, and has since been an ongoing project. Through the collection, it is an effort to preserve unique, vintage, entertaining and culturally significant analog media; through the radio broadcast, it’s an attempt to share the enjoyment vintage music can produce; and now through the website and podcast, it is a more dynamic forum and gallery to introduce people to the music as well as cover art found on the disc record format.

The main purpose of this site is to spread the appreciation of music to be found on vintage records, and to turn people on to some good old, if not odd & rare music they may not have otherwise considered. I aim to provide a service, and do not wish to be of a disservice to anyone, nor to hinder any musicians from earning an honest living. I strive to introduce people to interesting and enjoyable tunes, especially that which may not be available by other means. For any music that is still in print, I do my best to provide links and direct traffic to official sources. If that effort is by any means not appreciated, I will be glad to remove content from any record labels who don’t appreciate free advertising, or artists who do not want people listening to their music. Digital preservation and presentation is not a substitute for the original format and source. The appreciation for the experience of original formats and live performance is highly encouraged.
